Operations & Maintenance
HV Electrician
NASA Ames Research Center, CA
Education: High School diploma, GED, or equivalent. Completion of apprenticeship program in the electrician trade or equivalent experience.

Qualifications:
  • Basic journey level skills, knowledge and abilities in the electrician trade including proficiency in the use of all tools of the trade.
  • Ability to diagnose electrical and mechanical troubles and then make repairs on equipment.
  • Must be able to read/understand technical diagrams and drawings.
  • Be knowledgeable of the local codes and regulations, as well as National Electrical Code requirements.
  • Understanding of, and willingness to comply with, electrical and work safety procedures including National Electrical Code & CAL-OSHA Standards.
  • Ability to complete standard computations relating to load requirements of wiring or electrical equipment.
  • Must be able to enter confined spaces, be physically capable of bending for long periods of time, climbing ladders, work in confined spaces, lift 40 lbs.
  • Must possess a valid California driver's license, a good driving record and the ability to operate automatic transmission vehicles.
Job Description:
  • Provide effective and timely customer service to clients and team members.
  • Perform journey level electrical work; locate and diagnose trouble in electrical systems or components.
  • Install, maintain, and repair any of a variety of electrical equipment such as generators, transformers switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, conduit systems, or other transmission equipment.
  • Work standard computations relating to load requirements of wiring or electrical equipment.
  • Switch sequencing and power outage coordination involving different kinds of switch gear, breakers, and circuits such as High Voltage controls, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), contacts, wiring, ladder logic diagrams, governors and governor controls, and High voltage system relays, up to 115kV voltage levels.
  • Prepare and deliver job service reports, deficiency reports, and properly complete work orders.

Maintenance Manager
NASA Ames Research Center, CA
Education: Minimum AA Degree; CMRP or CRL Certification preferred; 8 years of hands-on experience in building maintenance.

Job Description: Works with the Program Manager and Maintenance Supervisor in planning and leading the Maintenance Group responsible for operational maintenance and improvements.

Qualifications:
  • Strong background in safety
  • Experience leading unionized tradesmen (plumbers, electricians, alarm technicians, HVAC technicians, carpenters, etc.)
  • Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems
  • Effective written and verbal communication

Project Manager
NASA Ames Research Center, CA
Job Description:
  • Support the Engineering & Project Management Dept in the planning, estimating, and execution of facilities and site improvement projects for IDIQ projects up to $1M in value on a large government research campus.
  • Projects may include fire alarm systems, roads/paved surfaces, buildings, cranes/elevators, underground utilities, HVAC, electrical utilities, and landscaping, to include major Infrastructure modifications.
  • Coordinate and oversee subcontractor work supporting projects including schedule, cost, and scope compliance, workmanship quality, and customer relationships.
  • Complete weekly and other periodic status reporting.
  • Monitor on-going projects to ensure safe work places and procedures, efficient construction/maintenance, and fully complete work with documentation.
  • Candidate shall have experience prioritizing competing tasks as he/she will have to balance a load of active projects with projects being planned and estimated.
  • Candidate shall have experience with quality assurance, safety, project management, and subcontractor management.
  • Candidate shall have experience preparing project financial reporting, including, but not limited to, estimate-to-complete (ETC).
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide Project Management oversight for all aspects of a project from initiation to close-out.
  • Coordinate and work with in-house technicians, vendors, and subcontractors to successfully deliver projects.
  • Work with customer Subject Matter Experts and in-house Craft Technicians to properly scope projects to resolve deficiencies and maximize benefit-cost ratio.
  • Perform construction estimates for installation, renovation, repair, and maintenance projects.
  • Provide/contract engineering and design services, as required, to obtain NASA Construction Permits.
  • Provide preliminary review of vendor/subcontractor proposals, engineering design packages, subcontractor safety documentation, equipment specifications, and other project submittals.
  • Evaluate and approve/reject subcontractor change orders.
  • Maintain project records and updates in Maximo, a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
  • Be the liaison to project stakeholders and NASA
  • Requires routine use of PPE on construction and maintenance sites.
Education: BS degree from accredited college in a technical field and 5+ year experience in Project Management, Construction Management, or Facilities Management.

Qualifications:
  • Must be able to obtain a NASA badge and maintain access to the workplace facility.
  • Requires excellent MS Office tool skills including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Teams, and SharePoint. Experience with Maximo and Oracle PeopleSoft preferred, but not required.

Reliability Centered Maintenance Engineer
NASA Ames Research Center, CA
Education and Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related scientific field and at least 10 years job-related experience. Excellent communications and analytical skills; working knowledge of computer systems and integrated software application programs. Be proficient in the use of IBM MAXIMO.

Job Description: The RCM Engineer is a senior engineer in his or her primary discipline. Perform a variety of engineering assignments in planning and overseeing research, development, design, manufacture, test, installation, operation, and maintenance of diverse electronic/ mechanical equipment and systems and generally as a lead of a design, analysis, or review team on the most complex engineering assignments. Is involved in the facilities commissioning and retro-commissioning services.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Support and perform design reviews
  • Provide assistance and support in RCM and RCx activities
  • Coordinate and work closely with other engineering, logistics, financial, and program management disciplines to define system specifications and requirements
  • Establish and maintain a filing system or databases as needed for tracking project status
  • Develop, maintain and produce technical documentation and system/subsystem specifications
  • Conduct site visits and experimental investigations; analyze engineering problems, propose solutions and alternatives
  • Verify and comply with engineering documentation standards, test procedures, and operations and maintenance activities
  • Prepare, deliver and submit technical papers and perform engineering studies
  • Organize and supervise a group of employees for RCM related activities
  • Serve as technical expert and manager over systems requiring expertise in diverse bodies of knowledge, such as environmental and safety requirements, systems integration, equipment monitoring, and utility metering
  • Maintain up-to-date technical expertise in assigned systems and knowledge of current trends in industry
  • Provide technical assistance, data entry, and administrative support
  • Monitor and analyze the RCM and CBM program to identify impending equipment failures, optimize maintenance quality, timeliness of maintenance, system reliability, and overall program effectiveness
  • Monitor equipment and system performance, and initiate actions to resolve operational deficiencies, improve performance, and increase reliability
  • Investigate equipment failures and determine the actions necessary to prevent or mitigate similar future failures
  • Perform root cause failure analysis and failure trend analyses on equipment
  • Review the RCM Plan and make recommendations for continuous improvements
  • Generate and provide ad hoc RCM-related reports to the Government upon request
  • Ensure that all PT&I data and analyses are available to the Government upon request
  • Coordinate and assist with maintenance and update of Computerized Maintenance Management System
  • Assist with weekly email notification to building managers of upcoming PM and PT&I scheduled work
  • Provide annual Work Plan, Five-Year Maintenance Plan, Headquarters Metrics Data, Reliability Centered Maintenance Plan, and Reliability Centered Maintenance Report
  • Coordinate and assist with preparation and maintenance of maintenance procedures
  • Coordinate facilities commissioning and retro-commissioning services, including, but not limited to, systems testing for design and operational functional requirements, and identification of and coordination of adjustments and repairs necessary for correcting deficiencies discovered during retro-commissioning services
  • Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
Status: Exempt.

Salary Range: $85,000.00 - $100,000.00 BOE.
